Life through my eyes...

Holidays are almost over...

It has been a real rollercoaster ride for me for the past couple of months. It's almost the end of the mid-semester break now. I have wondered on many occasions what I could have done within the past 2 1/2 weeks that I didn't do. Are there any regrets? Who knows. Many life changing things have happened and yet i'm still struggling through, barely surviving. Whatever doesn't break you, makes you a stronger person, yea?

I suppose that sometimes the choices we make aren't the best and we just hope that somehow in the future, everything will fall back into place so that life can continue to be a meaningful one and full of purpose. Perhaps, whoever's toes we have trodden on, will learn to forgive us for all the hurt and pain we have caused them. Perhaps, we should forgive those who have trodden on our toes too.

In times of depression or self-pity, what is it that gets you through? Haha. I think mine is pretty obvious --- SHOPPING!! It's something that can happen all day long, takes up a lot of time, energy AND of course, money. It also leaves you so tired at the end of the day that you don't have time to think of your problems anymore. True? Yeah, I love shopping. Hmmm... *SiGh* Maybe i'm just weak and I let everything get to me too easily until I fail as a person to everyone i'm suppose to be strong for.

Over the past few weeks, i've been spending at least $100 everytime I go out shopping, happy at first by the purchases i've made during the day but when I get home, it just sits in the corner or gets thrown under the bed. I think it's an addiction! There should be a Shopping-Anonymous meeting I could attend... somewhere? Hehe.

I have plenty of work to catch up on before Uni reopens. Am rather behind because of the blocked gland in my right eye that has caused my eye-lid to swell up and look so gross that I have to wear my sunglasses everywhere I go - even though it's been cloudy and raining in Christchurch for the past 2 days. Everyone must think i'm weird. I guess i'd rather have them think i'm weird than for them to stare at the lump on my eye and get grossed out.

An update on the eye: one side has popped and the puss/blood has been ooz-ing out every now and then so the size of the lump has been reduced immensely though I still look weird. Just hope that my eye returns to normal by Saturday. Pray hard for me yea? :P

No more mood to blog. Seems that this is really a blog of sadness. Well, this is me... bitching about my life... and the silly things i will do/am doing/have done. Whatever. Sometimes there is just no way to justify the things we will do/am doing/have done. Whatever will/is/has happen/ing/ed will/is/has happen/ing/ed. I guess we just have to learn to live with it.

Seems like this photo was taken so long ago, when my hair was still naturally straight. When I still smiled from ear to ear. Most importantly, when my eye was normal!! Grr!! Gimme back my eye!! *cRiEs* Maybe it's a form of punishment... *fAiNt*!

Graduation 2006

This was sent to me by Isaac titled "For the Girls" in response to my previous post, modified slightly for clarity but as he said, it is "an excerpt modified version from a bitter and single 29 year old male. Maybe that’s why he is still single :P".

1. When a guy says he’s sad, and he is crying, he is looking for sympathy. (pretending)
2. If he ignores you after you have done something wrong, something is REALLY wrong. DO NOT let him cool off with his friends on his video games or with his other close female friends… this may lead to addiction to alcohol and or another gf!
3. If a guy can find many things he does not like about the girl he loves, and still love her… This kind of relationship usually lasts.
4. If a guy loves a girl, she will be on his mind every darn second of the day, and HE will NOT flirt with other girls.
5. When a girl he likes smiles and stares deep into his eyes, his knees will buckle. (or he will think something is in his eye…)
6. A guy likes to hear compliments, it encourages him to show off more and more… and… more….until people are sick of him.
7. When a particular girl flirts with a guy very often, the guy would think the girl is flirting with him. Simple. We are not that complicated la. If we treat a girl as a friend, we wouldn’t go easy on smiles and stares. We do that to our male friends as well. (equal rights baah! )
8. If you don’t like a guy who likes you, break it to him FIERCELY. Or he will always annoy you, become a stalker, or worse, eventually become your BF.
9. If a guy starts avoiding you after you reject him, leave him alone. It’s his problem for having no self confidence and thinking it is the end of the world for him. He does not deserve to be your friend.
10. Guys enjoy talking about what they like to do and what they have done. After all, feelings are all personal!!!
11. Never tell a guy that he is useless. Even more so after you marry him.
12. Being too serious CAN turn a guy on. (Imagine how cool it is to seduce a tough nut like that?)
13. When a girl he likes, calls him for the first time, the guy MAY act cool. As soon as the phone is back on the hook, he will start wondering if it was all real or was it a trick. If it was a good call, he may carry over the feelings when he talks to his male friends. (to which, they will wonder why he is talking to them in such a gentle and gay puppy voice!?!)
14. A smile to the guy makes him think that he has choices to make.
15. If you like a guy, try making friends with his friends.
16. If a guy says he can’t go out with you because he has to study, he is probably with another girl. (seriously… WHO wants to study that badly if you are THAT hot!!!)
17. If he calls you and expects a call from you, he is a self delusional loser, half wit, who thinks you owe him just because he called you.
18. Don’t try to guess a guy’s feelings. Beat it out of him. If he does not tell you then there are real problems. Don’t let it brood any longer!
19. Hearing the words “I love you” is such a cheesy line and gives assurance to a guy that he can have sex with you in near future.
20. After a guy falls in love with a girl, he does NOT wonder why he never noticed her before.
21. If you need tips on how to flirt with a guy, it is DAMN easy. Just make eye contact with him. Smile and touch yourself. Simple. Watch cheesy TV dramas. You do NOT need to read Playboy or men’s magazines.
22. When a class picture comes out, a guy will check to see if the girl he likes looks good in the picture. He will not care how he looks in the photo. Unless he is gay.
23. A guy’s ex crush will not be in his memory as the girl he loves now stays in his heart.
24. Guy’s fun is making love.
25. A simple “Hi” will not brighten a guy’s day. He expects more than that to brighten his day. Try a 20 Kilowatt Aria HID (Hi Intensity Discharge Beam). Now… that baby can really light up his… oh… sorry.
26. A guy’s best friend usually knows best who his ex gfs are and what not to tell you. Because after all, we’re all bros man. YEAH!
27. Guys love it when a girl pays attention to them just to make their friends feel jealous.
28. Happiness means caring that leads to devotion, which leads to marriage. Now where is my dinner woman?!!
29. Some guys care about looks. (usually metrosexuals or gays), some care about brains (cuz they don’t want a girl with higher degrees than them hence male chauvinists.) All guys want is a girl who will care for them and is sexy.
30. Guys just want sex. Sex sex sex. Plain and simple. Why work so hard? Money? For sex. Fame and status? Sex. Marriage? Sex. Children? Need sex. They tell you they love you cuz in the end they get sex. Why is it that hard to understand?? Usually guys will dump a girl AFTER some form of sexual encounter. TRUE?! I rest my case.

Attended yet another graduation ceremony last week. Hopefully the next one I attend will be my own (next year... fingers crossed)! Anyway, here are a few photos from the graduation. More will be uploaded and linked in the near future. Look out for the updates!

Congratulations to those of you who have finished your studies and best wishes for the transition into working life! For those of you still stuck at Uni, enjoy your holidays! See you in 2 weeks!

Just taking a break...

At Uni... cramming for my ECON 209 test tomorrow. Freaking out a little because i've never attended any of the lectures as I have a lecture clash for that subject. Good thing there are video lectures eh? If you're wondering how I can blog while cramming... It's cuz i'm taking a break now... to clear my head a little...

Funny... I haven't blogged for 2 weeks, since my Mum left for Malaysia. Have been so busy with Uni and house work. Hah! You never know just how much goes on in a household until you're left to manage it by yourself.

For entertainment purposes, thought i'd post up something that Mark sent me back in 2004... almost 2 years ago. Have no idea where he got this from... but as he said: "This can't be any more true. the person who wrote this must really know girls or is a girl herself." Have a read when you're taking a break...

1. When a girl says she's sad, but she isn't crying, it means she's crying in her heart.
2. When she ignores you after you've done something wrong, it's best to give her some time to cool down before touching her heart with an apology.
3. A girl can't find anything to hate about the guy she loves (which is why it is so hard for her to 'get over him' after the relationship's over.)
4. If a girl loves a guy, he will always be on her mind every minute of the day, even though she flirts with other guys.
5. When the guy she likes smiles and stares deep into her eyes, she will melt.
6. A girl likes to hear compliments, but usually is not sure how to react to them.
7. When a particular guy flirts with a girl very often, a girl would start thinking the guy likes her. So if you treat a girl just as a friend, go easy on the smiles and stares ok?
8. If you don't like a girl who likes you, break it to her gently.
9. If a girl starts avoiding you after you reject her, leave her alone for a while. If you still treat her as a friend, talk to her.
10. Girls enjoy talking about what they feel. Music, poetry, drawings and writing are ways of expressing themselves (which explains why most girls like writing journals).
11. Never tell a girl that she is useless in anyway.
12. Being too serious can turn a girl off.
13. When the guy she likes calls her for the first time, the girl may act uninterested during the call. But as soon as the phone is back on the hook, she will whoop with joy and immediately start telephoning her friends to spread the news.
14. A smile means a lot to a girl.
15. If you like a girl, try making friends with her first. Let her get to know you.
16. If a girl says she can't go out with you because she has to study, leave.
17. But if she still calls you or expects a call from you, stay.
18. Don't try to guess a girl's feelings. Ask her.
19. Hearing the words "I love you" is a great reassurance to a girl that she is beautiful.
20. After a girl falls in love with a guy, she'll wonder why she never noticed him before.
21. If you need tips on how to flirt with a girl, read romance stories.
22. When class pictures come out, a girl would first check who is standing next to her crush before actually looking at herself.
23. A girl's ex-crush will always be in her memory, but the guy she loves now stays in her heart.
24. Girls love having fun!
25. A simple 'Hi' can brighten a girl's day.
26. A girl's best friends usually know best what she is feeling and going through.
27. Girls hate it when a guy pays attention to them just to get close to their 'prettier' friend.
28. Love means devotion, caring and happiness to a girl, in that order.
29. Some girls care about looks, some care about brains, but ALL girls want a guy who will love and care for them.
30. Girls want nothing more than to feel loved.

So girls... How accurate is that? :P
