Easily amused

It's only the middle of the day but my eyes can barely open. We've just arrived back at the apartment after finishing half a day of driving around in search of houses. It's all about the location but damn the prices are high!

Anyway, if you are having a tiring or a boring day, hopefully this will brighten up your day as much as it did mine. Call it what you want - cheap thrills or easily amused, but i'm sure you'll enjoy this:

*****************************************************
Two rich men were talking over coffee one day and one of them said to the other one. "Hey I tell you my driver is really stupid. If you don't believe me I'll show you." He called his driver Ah Beng over and said, "Ah Beng, here is a $10 note, go to the car showroom and buy me a Mercedes". To which Ah Beng replied, "Yes Sir! Right away, Sir!" and rushed off to the Showroom. The rich man then turned to his friend and said, "See, I told you he was stupid." The other rich man said, "That's nothing, you want to see stupid, I will show you stupid." And he called his driver, Ali. "Ali, go home now and check to see if I'm at home." To which Ali said, "Yes Sir! Right away,Sir!" and ran home. "See what I told you? He doesn't even have enough brains to know that I cannot be at home if I am here." Later on, the two drivers met on the road. Ah Beng said to Ali, "Eh, you know my boss is sooooooo stupid. He gave me $10 and asked me to go to the car showroom and buy him a Mercedes..... Doesn't he know that today is Sunday lah, the showroom is closed!" Ali replied, "You think your boss is stupid? My boss lagi worse, he asked me to go home to check if he is at home... He got handphone what,he can just call up to check lah, bodoh!!!"

*****************************************************
CAR
Beng and Seng excited and locked the car in a hurry, forgetting to remove the key which was in the ignition. Realizing the mistake, Beng asked, 'Why don't we get a coat hanger to open it.' 'No, that won't work' answered Seng. 'People will think we're trying to break in.' Then Beng suggested, 'What if we use a pocket knife to cut around the rubber, then stick a finger in and pull up the lock?' 'No,' said Seng. 'People will think we're too dumb not to use a coat hanger.' The kan cheong Beng shouted, 'we'd better think of something fast. It's starting to rain and the sunroof is open!'

******************************************************
PIZZA
Ah Beng ordered a pizza and the waitress asked if she should cut it in six or twelve pieces. Six, please. I could never eat twelve pieces.

******************************************************
DEAD BIRD
"Oh, look at the dead bird." Ah Beng looked skyward and said "Where, Where got?"

******************************************************
NOT MY BROTHER!
A pregnant woman gets into a car accident and falls into a deep coma. Asleep for nearly six months, she wakes up and sees that she is no longer pregnant. Frantically, she asks the doctor about her baby. The doctor replies, "Ma'am, you had twins! A boy and a girl. The babies are fine. Your brother came in and named them." The woman thinks to herself, "Oh no, not my brother, he's an idiot!" Expecting the worst, she asks the doctor, "Well, what's the girl's name?" "Denise," the doctor says. The new mother thinks, "Wow, that's not a bad name! Guess I was wrong about my brother. I like Denise!" Then she asks the doctor, "What's the boy's name?" The doctor replies, DeNephew.

ITALIAN
To impress his date, the young man took her to a very chick Italian restaurant. After sipping some fine wine, he picked up the menu and ordered. "We'll have the Giuseppe Spomdalucci," he said. "Sorry, sir," said the waiter. "That's the owner."

Catching up...

Ever since exams hit, i've had to drown out everything else and have since lost track of time, missing a few of my friend's birthdays. So... i'd just like to wish the following people a very happy belated birthday:

  • Nelson King (21st October)
  • Alvin Tan (21st October)
  • Andrew Kwong (22nd October)
  • Lisa Ling (25th October)
  • Laura Ling (25th October)
  • Hung Ta Ko (29th October)
  • Denise Adrian (31st October)
  • Ronald Ling (02nd November)
  • Jason Lai (05th November)
  • Kenneth Wong (06th November)
  • Alastair Fung (07th November)

I'm anticipating a very busy weekend up ahead so in case I forget again, happy birthday to:

  • Josephine Ha (11th November)

Have been extremely busy for the past few days, house hunting with Kevin's family. Luckily we've been experiencing absolutely wonderful weather. However, i've learnt that being fair isn't great because I KEEP GETTING SUNBURNT! Grr... If I wear a spaghetti strap top, then i'm bound to have a strap line... If I wear a short sleeved top, i'm sure to get a sleeve line and burnt around my shoulders. So today, i'm wearing a long sleeve top even though it's so hot! I wonder whether Christchurch is any better? Hmmm...

Update...

Since my previous post, i've finished the 6 dreadful exams and have escaped to Auckland to enjoy the warm summer days. But don't worry, i'll be back in Christchurch soon... Don't miss me too much. Haha.

The exam period kept me in hibernation most of the time with a few exceptions including Siew Aun's 20th birthday on Friday night which I only managed to schedule an hour to attend the cake cutting ceremony.

After finishing my exam on Saturday at 12:30pm, took a flight from Christchurch to Auckland at 5:50pm. Had dinner and then headed to the viaduct to watch a spectacular 8 minute extravagant display of fireworks. Absolutely beautiful inspite of the drizzling.

Amongst the many places we went to on Sunday, attended an auction for a house at Orakei in the afternoon the next day that had priceless views overlooking Mission Bay - sold at $1.4 m. Wow! We also visited the Parnell Rose Gardens to enjoy the beauty of the roses on an absolutely gorgeous Sunday afternoon. Will post the photos up next time as they are still inside the camera. Shared an ice cream while walking along St Heliers Bay after absorbing the stunning views from the lookout point on St Heliers. That was our weekend. :)

Back to reality. Weekdays - Kevin's at work and i'm packing, packing, packing. Will be moving out of this apartment on Saturday morning into the apartment at St Lukes. So whenever i'm up in Auckland within the next 3 months, undoubtedly, St Lukes Mall is going to be the place I visit the most. Haha. :P

Before I sign off, I have one recommendation - visit http://www.feifa-radio.com/chuangzao/Index.Asp and search for 林洁 who sings "Our Love" or "没有你的日子里". It's really worth listening to. If any of you recognise her photo, her english name is Lois Lim who is accompanied by Isaac lim singing the backing vocals. Some of you may also know them as Tim's older sibblings. Hehe... Anyway, just visit the website and listen to their beautiful voices! :)

For now, i'm off to sleep. Good night. Sweet dreams!

A budding rose...

It's hard to write what i'm really thinking as thoughts rush through my head a million times faster than the processing speed of my brain with the 3 hours sleep that i've had in the last 36 hours. It's incredibly hard to piece together the random thoughts so that it all makes sense.

I took this photo amongst many others in the very late evening as part of my very lazy day. There's something about this photo that seems to be very captivating.

I've concluded that it is a summation of me at present... a representation of my life so far - a budding rose who has the ability to bloom. However, with the inability to predict what the future will be... whether I will bloom or not can only be answered in time. The stem may weaken and I may fail or falter. But with the right nourishment, the rose will eventually bloom. All it takes is just time...

Who believes in the plant to provide its nourishment? Is it you? Are you willing to take on the burden of sustaining its life? Will you capture the glimpse of the beauty of a rose in full bloom?

Halloween

It didn't dawn on me that it was halloween until there was a *knock* *knock* *knock* on my front door. Oh wow, who could that be? I shall not mention names but honestly, it was really lame guys... I mean, is a face drawn on a plastic bag placed over your head suppose to scare me? Duh... lame. What more... During exams? It really didn't amuse me. Oh... and I heard your car drive away. So much for the story you guys conjured up. But, nice try...? Bleh.

Anyway, i'm still up at almost 3:00am. My brain wasn't working earlier on but it seems to have absorbed a lot more material after 2 cups of coffee within half an hour. Thank God for caffeine. I should be off to bed soon for a short rest before waking up to revise again. I hate exams!

Looking on the bright side... as of 12:30pm, i'll only have 2 more to go... yay... the end is getting nearer... but then, where to? What are my priorities? Where am I destined to be? *SiGh*

Currently: 3 more exams... and loving it... YEAH RIGHT! *fAiNt*
